This recording was done in one of the musicians' dining room, which had nice hardwood floors, brick covering most of one wall, and a fairly open design. There was one mic each for bass, mandolin, fiddle, and clarinet. Everything was mixed live to DAT (2 track) with no compression or effects processing. The DAT machine was connected to reference monitors as well as a home stereo so that the entire group could listen to each take and suggest any necessary changes throughout the session. The only mastering required was normalization. CD copies are currently being distributed for demo purposes.
