This song is on Chirps' newly released album "down in Little Egypt," on Vigortone Records. We recorded the entire album "live" (no overdubs or edits) in a well furnished condo basement. Each instrument (fiddle, guitar, and banjo on this song) had its own mic going to a separate track on tape (DA-38 digital multi-track). No headphones were used during the recording. The musicians played off of each other's natural sound. Mixing and mastering were very simple, using mild EQ in both phases and just a hint of compression/limiting in the mastering stage. I did tweak up the low-mids just a bit for this online sample so that the bass would carry better on small computer speakers.
