|Play Clip of Smokehouse All Stars -- MP3|
This recording was done at Webster University's Studio A. It was co-engineered by Kevin Seyle and I while we were students there. Each song was essentially done in two passes - one pass with the five instruments playing together in a semi-circle (no baffles, gobos, etc.) and then a second pass for the three vocals. A few songs had punch-ins to replace a rough note, but tracks were pretty solid to begin with. Mixing was also done at Webster and used very little processing other than some EMT plate reverb added primarily to the vocals. This song appears on the album 'Blue Smoke Rising,' available locally. The clip here has been mastered to enhance the bass response and overall volume to be heard on home computers.
